Get inspired with our chic IKEA hacks
We all know that IKEA are great at providing solid, robust furniture at a very competitive price. However, generic is a word that would describe it perfectly…who wants the same furniture as everybody else? There are a community of people who love nothing better than taking IKEA furniture, and upgrading it into something special…you would barely recognize it in some cases. In this post, i will show you a few chic IKEA hacks that deliver that magic.
1. Super furry stools
This fantastic upgrade takes a very cheap IKEA Marius stool and delivers something very special. The folks over at The Kitchy Kitchen show you how they use this stool as a basis, and turn it into something incredibly chic. This would sit very comfortably in a designer home and looks like it would cost significantly more than it actually does. It’s a simple hack too…anybody can achieve this look.
2. IKEA Nightstand Hack
This nightstand hack delivers chic style in abundance. It takes a very simple, cheap table and adds an abundance of magic. The full tutorial can be found at kristimurphy.com where they take you through the process. The legs are spray painted gold while the ‘marble’ effect top is simply contact paper. It’s an upgrade any one of us could achieve…and doesn’t it look beautiful.
3. IKEA Ivar Cupboard Hack
Our friends over at we-are-scout.com have put together this absolutely stunning hack that delivers chic styling by the boatload. This simple Ivar sideboard is painted using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and adorned using a decoupage technique. The results are simply stunning…and at little cost too.

Who would have thought a simple hack could have made such a big difference? Check out this hack at Sugar and Cloth, where they take a simple tub chair and add the magic. The cost of this hack is minimal too, literally some paint and spray paint, and what a difference it makes. It’s incredibly easy too so none of you should have any issues…let your creative spirit run free.
5. IKEA Tarva Dresser Hack
This is probably the most difficult hack that we are showcasing, but we do so because the result is stunning. It takes a relatively simple piece of furniture, and turns it into something very special indeed. Our friends at In My Own Style are the creators, so head over to them for a full low down on how to create this magic using the IKEA Tarva.
6. IKEA Bekvam Kitchen Cart Hack

For those of you looking for a stylish piece for the kitchen, or even something practical to create additional surface area, this is for you.
