We all know that IKEA are great at providing solid, robust furniture at a very competitive price. However, generic is a word that would describe it perfectly…who wants the same furniture as everybody else? There are a community of people who love nothing better than taking IKEA furniture, and upgrading it into something special…you would barely recognize it in some cases. In this post, i will show you a few chic IKEA hacks that deliver that magic.

1. Super furry stools

This fantastic upgrade takes a very cheap IKEA Marius stool and delivers something very special. The folks over at The Kitchy Kitchen show you how they use this stool as a basis, and turn it into something incredibly chic. This would sit very comfortably in a designer home and looks like it would cost significantly more than it actually does. It’s a simple hack too…anybody can achieve this look.

2. IKEA Nightstand Hack

This nightstand hack delivers chic style in abundance. It takes a very simple, cheap table and adds an abundance of magic. Our friends over at we-are-scout.com have put together this absolutely stunning hack that delivers chic styling by the boatload. This simple Ivar sideboard is painted using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and adorned using a decoupage technique. The results are simply stunning…and at little cost too.
